Behind this fish -soup there is a long history of fear and courage. Because, in the ancient thought the sea was a hostile, lonely world with sea monsters and fishes which were frightening to humans.... the only animal eaten in eastern Mediterranea…

What Blog Away Hunger is all about....

Blog Away Hunger is an effort started by Marc Matsumoto of No Recipes who has joined forces with ex BloggerAid and Ivy Liacopoulou, of Kopiaste, to raise awareness and money for the World Food Program. Part philanthropic endeavor and part social experiment, our goal is to mobilize the world of bloggers and quantify just how much sway we collectively have.

The World Food Program is a global aid organization dedicated to end world hunger; providing food to those who need it most, while building long term solutions that enable people to provide for themselves. Last year they helped 102 million people in 78 countries with 3.9 million tons of food. They are the only U.N. agency that does not receive regular allocations from the U.N. budget and so they need help from everyone to continue their work.

Who We Are

Blog Away Hunger, is a non- profit website. We are a community of hundreds of members who come from diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds and ages from all over the world. Our members care about making our own communities and the world a more just place for all. We want to make a difference in our own communities as well as help others in need.

Help Haiti

Have you ever heard the phrase “It’s the little things…”? With a nutritious meal costing only $0.25, small donations go a long way.

Help Haiti

As bloggers, we inform and influence others every day with our posts. We also spend money doing what we do.

Pick a day to save a few bucks: eat in, skip that afternoon latte, or do whatever you need to do to stash some cash. Then give your savings to Friends of the World Food Program. Most importantly, tell your story… Talk about your experience, the hunger epidemic, and what your doing to end it.

For example, if you’re a food blogger, flex your creativity and invent something new and delicious while spending less on ingredients. If you’re a film blogger, go see a free screening, watch an old flick, or blog about going on a film fast to help end hunger. If you’re a mommy blogger, talk to your child about donating part of their allowance, it’s never to early to learn about the virtues of giving back.

Don’t forget to send in your post to hunger@norecipes.com so it can be included in our list of participants.
